Your role as Project Manager
As a Project Manager at Global Rail Group, you will play a pivotal role in support of delivering technical and operational projects across North America. This role is well suited for an independent, motivated professional who enjoys responsibility, thrives in a dynamic environment, and values close interaction with customers and senior management.
You will manage projects, act as a customer-facing representative, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our project delivery practices within a flat organizational structure.
- Support manage and deliver operational, technical, and engineering-related projects across the North American continent Execute in the planning, coordinate, and monitor project scope, timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring close collaboration and high service quality
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders across engineering, operations, and management functions
- Support project budget compliance, cost tracking, and financial reporting in line with agreed targets
- Be a key support for identifying risks and issues early, proactively address these to your direct line of report to Head of North American Operational Project Management to discuss mitigation strategies, and escalate when required
- Ensure that project staff have all requisite safety training
- Ensure project documentation, reporting, and governance standards are maintained
- Support to translate technical and engineering concepts into clear, actionable information for customers and internal teams
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices in project and operational management
- Operate effectively in a flat hierarchy with direct access to senior management and decision-makers
- Ensure contract deliverables are executed, delivered on time, and appropriately invoiced
- Be able to adapt to developing customer priorities and timelines to ensure project delive
Your profile
- Tertiary Degree in Engineering, Railway Systems, Project Management, or a comparable technical or scientific discipline
- 2–3 years of professional experience in project management, preferably within railways, infrastructure, engineering, or other technical environments
- Solid understanding of technical and operational project delivery
- Demonstrate the ability to communicate laterally as well as vertically within project teams
- Comfortable working independently with a high level of ownership and accountabilit
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to build trusted relationships
- Confident communicator, capable of engaging with technical experts, customers, and senior management
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment
- Willingness to take initiative and embrace challenges
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages (Spanish) are an asset
